A photo of a melting glacier dubbed "Mother Nature in Tears" has been seized by environmentalists as the latest sombre reminder of the effects of climate change.
Environmental lecturer Michael Nolan captured the image on a trip to Norway in July while he was observing the ice-shelf, Austfonna, which is shrinking by almost 50m each year. "This is how one would imagine mother nature would express her sentiments about our inability to reduce global warming," Mr Nolan said.
