Well I think I've just seen this mysterious star that everybody is talking about. I'm in the US (Ohio) and the star is clearly visible in the western sky.
I've heard a few people say that it is Venus but I'm pretty sure that is not it. I've seen Venus in the sky plenty of times and this star is too big to be Venus. In fact, it is much bigger than any star or planet that I have ever seen.
I have my own theories as to why were are seeing this star but I will keep that to myself for now.

The star/planet the op is talking about is very visable in the uk... lots of us here are wondering what it is, and also lots of people have mentioned it feeling like a 'presence'... i must say, when looking at it... i get a strange feeling.
It has been visable for about 2-3 months i think, it is bold, bright and just sits in the sky, it seems to have an orange tint..
I have never seen one quite like it in my 28 years.
There seems to be many questions surrounding it, with little answers.
Lissa!!!OMG... I live in NYC and I have seen this star here and also in Salt Lake City and it IS REALLY bright... I was thinking that it was Venus but I also thought that this star was particularly BRIGHT!! I mean brighter than what I remember Venus was...
Do you think this is Planet X or Nibiru?
I havent seen it, and only just came across the story on above top secret, so I dont know, but my gut feeling is that its part of a set of signs that we should all be paying attention to and keeping track of, signs both of good things to come and of not so good things to come.
I've been watching this star for a while. It is so very bright but it completely disappears after about 9:30 in the evening. I keep thinking I am going to stare at it until I see it disappear but then I forget and it's gone. I just went out to look for it about 30 minutes ago and it was already gone.
Very strange.
Where in the sky would it be for us in Australia? I want to see it!
If you download stellarium and plug in your time and location (your computer should fill that in automatically. It will show you the position of the known stars in the sky.
If it is venus then it should align very closely. I know the star you guys are talking about as I have seen it plenty of nights.
That is an AWESOME program. I'm going to be playing with that for hours
Just make sure to set your location in the settings so that you see your part of the sky "down under" as it is in real life.
It comes automatically with 600 thousand stars out of the box with an additional 210million if you add an extra package. I used the program early last year when I was doing a UFO investigation on a particular sighting.
You can even speed up and slow down time to any specific date like a VCR on fastforward, pause, rewind or real time.

Hey Fore, I just realized. I HAVE been seeing strange optical things. All my life. The optomitrist didn' know what I was talking about and I guess I'm so used to it that I didn't think to connect it to this.
It happens at any time or situation. All of a sudden I see thousands of little ...lights, for lack of a better term, all over the place, no matter where I look. Thin ones. That move. I used to think it was my eyes doing it but apparently it isn't. I don't know if that makes sense to you or not.
Yes I've been noticing this the other night there were about 3 or 4 of them changeing colour one night one appeared as I was watching.Others on Brads site have noticed also.
